Geometry Starting 3/23

Unit on Circles - To stay on top of things with all the fieldtrips and whatnot that will be going on this quarter here is what we will be going over.
+Make sure you read and define terms in the CS section of your book starting on page 370. Know the Inscribed angle theorem on CS22.

Week of 3/6 to 3/9

Geometry- Covering Special Right Triangles (45-45-90) and (30-60-90). In the book T61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 82, 90, 91a. Next week the Springbreak assignment on Volume Similarity will be due.


Algebra II- Covering the Packet given on circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas. Packet assignment due on Monday 4/13

4th Quarter 1st Assignment

Geometry- Page 316: S56-58,68, and 69. Explain briefly how to find the ratio of similarity for the perimeter, area, and volume between two figures.

Algebra II-By completing this assignment you main objective is to be able to identify the graphs of circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas as well as be able to graph them by looking at an equation.
1) Determine the standard form equation for a circle, ellipse, and more hyperbolas. Write them out.
2) What is a Foci and how does it factor into graphing ellipses and hyperbolas?
3) How do you find the asymptotes of these types of hyperbolas? Write the equation.
4) In the packet provided complete problems:
a. Page 579 #9-20
b. Page 586#7-9, 13-15, 25-28
c. Page 601 #7- 14 graph each equation

Current Topics: Geometry- volume, surface area, lateral surface area. Algebra II- graphing functions and identifying the graphs of functions (cubics, hyperbola, exponential, absolute value)

FCAT Prep week.....If you want to work on your packets during the weekend see me on Friday!

Algebra II: Review how to identify and how to graph cubics, hyperbola (y=1/x) types, and exponentials.

Geometry: Area- be sure you know how to find the area of triangles, all quadrialaterals, and a circle.
